Michael Paré (born October 9, 1958 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American actor .

Life

Paré was training to be a chef and working in a restaurant when his looks gave him a modeling career. He studied acting with Uta Hagen and had his breakthrough with the television series The Greatest American Hero , which was broadcast from 1981 to 1983. Paré had a sensational success in the lead role of Eddie and the Cruisers in which he played a rock star. The film briefly made him the most sought-after young actor in Hollywood . Paré was best known in Europe for the role of David Herdeg in The Philadelphia Experiment (1984).

Paré's next film, Streets in Flames , also received a lot of attention. He then played in a number of action films or crime novels, but gradually the success failed and the quality of the films steadily deteriorated. Since then, he has played mostly in B-films produced directly for the video market, and as a permanent cast member in the television series The Glorious Two ( Houston Knights ) and Starhunter . Since 2001 he has appeared in almost all of Uwe Boll 's films. In 2005 Paré also took part in Island of Beasts for the first time as executive producer.

Michael Paré is married to Marjolein Booy for the third time. They have a child together.
