Simon Charles Pendered MacCorkindale (born February 12, 1952 in Cambridge , England , † October 14, 2010 in London ) was a British film and theater actor , film producer and director , screenwriter and film composer .

Life

Simon MacCorkindale wanted to be a pilot in the Royal Air Force like his father , but his bad eyesight made this career choice impossible.

Therefore, after attending high school , he graduated from an acting school . Then he gained his first experience at the theater . In 1973 he made his television debut in the mini-series Hawkeye, the Boy Scout . Since then he has appeared in front of the camera in many well-known television and cinema productions. His distinctive face has given him roles as a gangster or a criminal. He was involved in Jesus of Nazareth in 1977 , Death on the Nile in 1978, in 1983 in Jaws 3-D and in 1995 in Ice Cold Anger . In 1997 he starred in the dramatic agent series Nikita as the charming villain in episode 104, "The Benefactor".

MacCorkindale also made a name for himself in American show business. In the television series Falcon Crest he played between 1984 and 1986 the lawyer "Greg Reardon". In 1983, he played a man who can transform into animals in the science fiction series A Case for Professor Chase . He also produced the US series Relic Hunter - Die Schatzjägerin and Adventure Inc. - Hunter of Forgotten Treasures .

MacCorkindale was married to film actress Fiona Fullerton from 1976 to 1982 and to actress Susan George from 1984 until his death . He died of colon cancer in October 2010 at the age of 58 .

MacCorkindale was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1986 for his performance in Falcon Crest . In 1992 he was nominated for a Gemini Award for the series Counterstrike as "Best Dramatic Lead Actor" . In 1999, Such a Long Journey was nominated for the Genie Award for best film.
