Susan Melody George (born July 26, 1950 in London ) is a British actress and film producer .

Life

George made his debut on the television series Swallows and Amazons in 1963 . In the crime film Scandal at Scotland Yard (1968) she played one of the bigger roles alongside Michael York . In the film drama The American (1969), in which she played alongside Charles Bronson, she took on the title role of Twinky .

George played a bigger role alongside Dustin Hoffman in Sam Peckinpah's thriller Who Sows Violence (1971) . For her role in the horror film The House of the Damned (1982) she was nominated for the Saturn Award in 1983 . In the British television film The House That Mary Bought (1995) she not only played the lead role of Mary Close , but also worked as an executive producer .

The actress was married to actor and director Simon MacCorkindale from 1984 , who died in October 2010. In 1995, George was number 72 on Empire Magazine 's list of 100 Sexiest Stars .

Since 1995 George has been breeding Arab mares - called Georgian Arabians - at Exmoor National Park and selling products for horse therapy.
