Dirty Dancing is an American television series that was produced by Vestron Television between 1988 and 1989. It is an adaptation of the 1987 musical film Dirty Dancing .
content
17-year-old Frances Kellerman, known as "Baby" by her friends, is the daughter of Max Kellerman, the owner of Kellerman's summer vacation facility . There she earns her money together with the dance teacher Johnny Castle. Frances falls in love with Johnny when he teaches her Dirty Dancing .
Soundtrack
A short version of the title (I've had) the time of my life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes is used in the opening credits . For the most part, the series, as well as the movie, contains pieces of music from the 1960s.
Charisma
The premiere took place in the United States from 29 October 1988 to 14 January 1989. For the first time on German television series in the second program was GDR television from 1 September to December 1989 within the youth magazine Elf 99 see . It was shown for the first time in Germany by RTLplus from December 23, 1989 to February 17, 1990. Repetitions took place in the ARD regional program of the DFF from December 1990 to March 1991, at the ORB in 1992 and at the MDR in 1994.
The series was also released in Great Britain by Vestron Video International in 1990 on video cassette.
