Constance Marie
Constance Marie (* 9. September 1965 in East Los Angeles , California as Constance Marie Lopez ) is an American actress .
Career and life
Constance Marie began her career in 1988 with dance appearances in David Bowie's music videos and the dance film Salsa . This was followed by the role of Penny Rivera in the short-lived television series Dirty Dancing , which is based on the dance film of the same name . In the soap opera California Clan she played Nikki Alvarez in two years .
Other roles, mainly in television series and television films , followed. From 2002 to 2007 Marie was seen in the eponymous series by comedian George Lopez , for which she and Lopez were nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2004. Marie herself received the Imagen Award in 2004 for her role as Angie Lopez, as well as other nominations, including the ALMA Award .
Since 2011 she played one of the main characters in the television series Switched at Birth as Regina Vasquez .
Others
In October 2007 she started her own fashion label The Constance Marie Collection . In the same year, PETA featured Constance Marie in an ad campaign aimed at encouraging people to become more involved with animals.
Marie has been the mother of a daughter since 2009.
