The Sentinel is an American - Canadian television series with four seasons and a total of 65 episodes. It ran in America from 1996 to 1999 on UPN and is about the super-sensual detective James Ellison.

action

The US Army ranger James Ellison loses his entire unit in the jungles of Peru and has to survive alone for eighteen months. After his rescue, he switched to the police in the American town of Cascade.

Five years later, strange powers are awakening in Ellison; his five senses are suddenly sharpened beyond measure; he hears, sees, tastes, smells and feels better than anyone else around him. The anthropologist Blair Sandburg from Rainer University explains: there has always been a protector in the tribal associations of prehistoric times, the "Sentinel", who was endowed with expanded senses and had the task of protecting his community.

Ellison becomes the Sentinel of the city of Cascade and fights the crime with Sandburg and his Captain Simon Banks, the only other person who knows his secret.

characters

James "Jim" Ellison
is a former Army Ranger and Police Officer. Through his experiences in the Peruvian jungle, he has a supernatural perception and extremely keen senses, which are often helpful in solving crimes. Sometimes, however, if he concentrates one of his senses too much, he falls into a kind of coma that protects his brain from the overload.
Blair sand castle
is an anthropologist and researched the legends of the "Sentinels" at Rainer University until he met Jim Ellison. He then joins the Cascade Police Department to monitor and help Jim.
Simon Banks
is the African-American captain of Jim Ellison's department and, besides Blair, the only one who is informed about Jim's special abilities. It is not infrequently he who has to hide this from the public.
