Richard Burgi

Richard William Burgi (born July 30, 1958 in Montclair , New Jersey ) is an American actor .

life and career

After Burgi graduated from high school, he toured the United States and Europe .

It was not until the mid-1980s, at the age of 28, that Burgi began acting and has since established himself in the series landscape of American television through numerous guest appearances and supporting roles. His filmography includes appearances on a variety of television series including 24 , The District , Amy Just In Case, and Harper's Island . From 1996 to 1999 he starred in the series The Sentinel - In the Eye of the Hunter . Erich Räuker gave him his German dubbing voice . Between 2004 and 2012 he appeared in Desperate Housewives in the role of Karl Mayer , Susan's ex-husband , played by Teri Hatcher . He played in 2012 in the final season of the drama series One Tree Hill , the role of Ted Davis , the series Father of Sophia Bush . He played a recurring role in Body of Proof in 2013 . Since 2014 he can be seen in General Hospital .

He was married to Lori Kahn from 1995 to 2011 and has two sons. In February 2012 he married Liliana Lopez.
