Danny Bruder (born August 31, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German musician / record producer , rapper / singer and author .

Life

Danny Bruder, son of Peter Seum , started his musical career in 1987 in the Georg von Rauch House . In the 1990s he was a member of the Berlin hardcore punk / crossover band Gunjah and the hip hop / funk bands CPS and Das Department. Since 2000 he has also been musically active with his partner Kronstädta under the name of Bruder & Kronstädta. In addition to his own bands and radio plays, Bruder has already produced with bands such as H-Blockx , Joseph Cotton, Della Miles, Daddy Freddy and other artists and made various remixes (including for Die Ärzte , Phase V , Mellow Mark and many others ). He toured across Europe with his bands and released singles , EPs and several albums .

In 1999 he and Kronstädta initiated the project No Power For Nobody 2000 - The Heirs Of The Shards , which was released on BigPop Records the following year.

Also in 1999 he founded the band Das Department together with Heinrich Carstens and Jörn Hedtke (Kronstädta). By 2002, The Department released three singles , two EPs and one album (Fuel).

Since 2004 Danny Bruder has increasingly appeared as an activist for free music . For example, he left GEMA and, together with a programmer friend, developed the Copycan project, which is based on the Street Performer Protocol . He gave lectures at the Re: publica , the Wizards of OS , the Chaos Communication Congress , in 2009 at the all2gethernow and in 2010 at the first Youtube User Congress in the c-base .

Danny Bruder is a co-founder of the artist collective P-Pack, which operates , among other things, an indie label called P-Pack Records (LC 12796). The label is mainly used by artists from Danny Brother's environment, such as Yaneq , Bruder & Kronstädta or Gauner .

Brother is a member of the C3S SCE which he co-founded in Hamburg in 2013. The aim of the European Cooperative is to build a European collecting society for musical content.
