Thomas Bogenberger

Thomas Bogenberger (* 1952 in Traunstein ) is a German composer for film, radio drama and theater music as well as a crime writer .

Life

After graduating from high school in Prien am Chiemsee , Bogenberger studied medicine in Gießen and Erlangen and received his doctorate in 1979. He then continued his career as a musician and studied musicology at the LMU Munich . In addition to his musical activities, he was a member of the “Revuekabarett Blackout” in the 1980s and worked as a composer, musician and cabaret artist in numerous cabaret and music theater productions, especially in the Munich “Hinterhoftheater”, the “Theater Drehleier” and the “Schlachthof”. During this time he wrote his first radio plays and television compositions ("Aschentonnenrevue") for the Bavarian radio .

In the 1990s he became composer and musical director of the satirical television series "Das Brettl aus dem Lustspielhaus" (BR) with hosts from Uwe Ochsenknecht and Saskia Vester to Otto Grünmandl , Ingrid Steeger and Veronika Fitz . In addition, he composed incidental music and songs for cabaret artists and actors such as B. Andreas Giebel, Urban Priol, Miki Malör, Helmut Schleich, Michael Altinger, Jörg Maurer or Gerd Anthoff and Krista Posch (selection).

Since 2000, Bogenberger has been writing more and more radio plays and film music and has been a member of various ensembles such as "Erogene Zone" with Krista Posch or the Edith Piaf musical "Hommage" with Petra Lamy. Since 2011 he has been the guitarist of Gerd Anthoff's musical reading “Back then at Christmas”. In 2014 the multi-instrumentalist joined the rhythm & blues formation "Blues4Use" as a bass player.

He made his debut as a crime writer in 2011 with Chiemsee Blues . This was followed by two more crime thrillers about Commissioner Hattinger, which were published by Pendragon Verlag .

He has three children with the screenwriter Ariela Bogenberger and lives in Prien am Chiemsee .
