Eleonore Schroth
Eleonore Ruth Schroth (real name Eleonore Ruth von Nicolai ; born August 30, 1928 in Konstanz ; † September 11, 2000 in Forsyth County (North Carolina) , USA ) was a German actress and radio play speaker .
Live and act
Eleonore Schroth was the daughter of the actor Heinrich Schroth and Paula Maria Eisele. She began her stage career at the age of 12. In the years 1949 to 1950 she had an engagement at the Stadttheater Konstanz under the artistic director Heinz Hilpert . There she belonged, along with Tatiana Iwanow , to the cast of Hilpert's Was Ihr wollt production, which was a guest at the Ruhr Festival in June 1949 . She then worked at the Hanover State Theater until 1956 . From 1957 to 1959 Eleonore Schroth was a member of the ensemble of the Celle Castle Theater and, again under Hilpert's direction, that of the German Theater in Göttingen .
In the 1959/60 season she went to Hamburg to the Thalia Theater there . In September 1959 she took part in the world premiere of the comedy Hobby and State Secretary by Kurt Heynicke . At the opening of the Hamburg State Theaters in 1961/62, she took on the role of Sofie in Goethe's comedy Die Mitschuldigen at the Thalia Theater . At the premiere of the 1962/63 season she played Helena in Troilus and Cressida . In the same season she was seen alongside Hans Paetsch in the German premiere of the US comedy Nur kein Blumen by Norman Barash and Carroll Moore (directed by Johannes Schaaf ).
For radio, Eleonore Schroth was heard in various radio plays on the North German Radio and Radio Bremen in the early 1960s . Her successful career as an actress in television films and series also began at this time.
In 1971 she emigrated with her family to the United States , where she began a second career as an acting teacher at the North Carolina School of Arts (NCSA).
Eleonore Schroth was married and had a daughter.
