Herbert Timm
Herbert Timm (born October 2, 1911 in Kaltenkirchen ; † April 2, 1987 in Münster ) was a German financial scientist .
Life
Timm was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. doctorate and in the same year assistant to Rudolf Stucken . In 1939 he completed his habilitation in economics . In 1943 he became an associate professor at the University of World Trade in Vienna.
In 1951 he followed an appointment as a full professor at the Technical University of Hanover . In 1956 he became professor at the University of Saarland and in 1960 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster (Westphalia). There he was director of the Institute for Public Finance and most important teacher of Hans-Werner Sinn , who later assisted him together with Georg Milbradt .
From 1961 to 1964 he was chairman of the Faculty Conference for Economics and Social Sciences . He was also a member of the scientific advisory board at the Federal Ministry of Finance .
