Otto H. Poensgen

Otto Herbert Poensgen (born August 9, 1932 in Aachen ; † October 29, 1982 ) was a German economist .

Life

Poensgen came from the important entrepreneurial family Poensgen and was the son of the hut director Otto Poensgen (* 1896) and Frieda, née Püngeler (* 1909), daughter of the District Court Councilor Rudolf Püngeler . He studied at the Technical University of Aachen with a degree in engineering in 1957. From 1961 to 1967 he taught at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he obtained a Ph.D. acquired. In 1966 he became a full professor for business administration at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. From 1969 to 1971 he was chairman of the Economic and Social Science Faculty Conference .

Poensgen was married to one of Danckelmann's and had three children. After his death in 1982 he found his final resting place in Aachen's Westfriedhof .
