Alexander Karmann
Alexander Karmann (born July 19, 1948 in Nuremberg ) is a German economist.
Life
Karmann studied mathematics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1967 to 1975 and also graduated as a concert pianist at the Nuremberg Conservatory in 1971 . From 1975 to 1986 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Karlsruhe , where he received his doctorate in 1979. This was followed by his habilitation in 1983 and the license to teach economics and statistics at the University of Karlsruhe. In 1986 he accepted a position at the University of Hamburg , where he worked as a professor of economics . In 1994 Karmann moved to the Technical University of Dresden , where he was professor of economics, in particular money, credit and currency, from 1994 to 2013. He has been a senior professor of economics at the TU Dresden since 2013 and has chaired the Faculty Conference for Economics and Social Sciences .
