Karl Hermann Häuser (born October 21, 1920 in Obermühle ; † September 7, 2008 in Oberrot ) was a German economist .

Life

Homes was the son of a factory owner. He studied economics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Frankfurt am Main . From 1948 to 1950 he was a research associate at the Bank deutscher Länder . In 1950 he was with the dissertation The ratio of savings and investment for Dr. rer. pole. PhD . He was a student of Heinz Sauermann . In 1951 he was a financial advisor to the Allied High Commission in Berlin. From 1952 to 1953 and from 1954 to 1958 he was a research assistant and private lecturer at the University of Frankfurt. In between he was a Rockefeller Fellow at the Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva. In 1957 he completed his habilitation at the University of Frankfurt. In 1958 he became professor for economic political science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel ; Then in 1962 at the University of Frankfurt. He was also head of the Institute for Capital Market Research in Frankfurt and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Finance . From 1964 to 1966 he was chairman of the Faculty Conference for Economics and Social Sciences . He was u. a. Member of the Social Policy Association and the American Economic Association . In 1970 he was a co-founder of the Federal Freedom of Science (BFW).
