Horst Beck
Horst Beck (born March 9, 1913 in Leipzig ; † September 21, 1974 in Hamburg ) was a German actor , dubbing and radio play speaker .
Life
Beck made his debut in Berlin in 1932 at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm . In 1941 he came to Hamburg and initially appeared in Altona and at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus . After the war he worked for many years as an actor and director at the Hamburger Kammerspiele . He had his last appearance in the role of Einstein in The Physicists by Friedrich Dürrenmatt .
As a supporting actor, he worked in numerous feature films in the 1950s, and later he was particularly active in television. In 1964 he played one of the leading roles (Detective Waitl) in the Stahlnetz episode Rehe , which was based on the kidnapping of Joachim Göhner , alongside Heinz Engelmann and Sigurd Fitzek . In 1965, in the three-part series The Gentlemen Ask To Cashier , he took on the role of the seedy Twinky, who gives valuable information to the mail robbers, but then reveals the crooks anonymously out of dissatisfaction. Beck had a permanent role in 1968 as Erwin Wernicke in the series Anker hoch und Leinen los! .
As a voice actor he lent his voice to James Finlayson and David Tomlinson, among others . As a radio play speaker he spoke to Sam Hawkens in the children's radio play Winnetou . He was the father of the actress Susanne Beck .
On September 21, 1974, Horst Beck died unexpectedly while rehearsing a television game in Hamburg. He was 61 years old. The burial took place at the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg.
