content
Three historical criminal cases were re-enacted in loose succession in 1964, with one of them - “The Nebe Case” - being broadcast in two parts. The documentary character of this series was underlined by legal explanations by the lawyer Dr. Paul Ronge on the individual cases.
The scripts were written by Answald Krüger and Maria Matray ("The Krantz Case"), Günther Wolf and Peter Ernst ("The Calmette Case") and Helmut Andics ("The Nebe Case"), the production was carried out by Tele Universal Hamburg.
The falls
The Krantz case
This case, also known as the Steglitz school tragedy in 1927 , deals with the death of two young people whose murder Paul Krantz is accused of. The trial before the Berlin Criminal Court in Moabit in 1928 earned the wrongly accused eight months in custody. The trial came to the conclusion that one of the young people had shot his friend first and then himself.

The Calmette case
In the so-called Calmette trial in 1931, the physician Dr. Georg Deycke and the head of the Lübeck health department, Ernst Altstaedt , are responsible before the large criminal chamber of the Lübeck regional court. With the consent of Altstaedt, Deycke had orally vaccinated 256 newborns against tuberculosis without prior animal testing and without later security controls. 77 babies died and another 131 children became ill. Dr. Deycke was sentenced to two years in prison for negligent homicide and negligent bodily harm, Altstaedt received 15 months in prison for the same reason.

The Nebe case
Most recently in the rank of SS group leader, Arthur Nebe was responsible for numerous atrocities committed by the Nazi regime . In addition, however, he was also in contact with the German resistance. After the failed assassination attempt on July 20, 1944 , he went into hiding, but was betrayed by a former lover and sentenced to death by the People's Court on March 2, 1945 .
