Will van Deeg

Will van Deeg (actually Willi Gustav Arthur Deeg ) (born February 18, 1916 in Celle ; † August 23, 1980 in Hamburg ) was a German actor and singer .

Life

Will van Deeg grew up in Finland and completed his artistic training from 1936 to 1940 at the Berlin Music Academy. However, he could only begin his career in Görlitz in 1946 after the end of the Second World War . Van Deeg also found employment at theaters in Berlin, Halberstadt and at the Meininger Theater , where he was engaged as the first operetta tenor in the 1947/48 season and also appeared again in later years.

Van Deeg has also been in front of the camera since the mid-1950s, initially in some DEFA productions . At the end of the 1950s he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany and occasionally came to film and television roles. He was seen as a guest in the series Hafenpolizei , Das Kriminalgericht and Ein Case für Titus Bunge .

In his last TV appearance, van Deeg played in the court program The TV Court meets at the side of his wife, the singer Margret Warbeck, whom he married in 1941 and with whom he had two daughters.
