Kurt Klopsch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kurt Klopsch (born December 24, 1905 in Berlin , † December 16, 1989 in Hamburg ) was a German actor , cabaret artist , radio play and voice actor .

Live and act

Klopsch began his career in the late phase of the Weimar Republic in the provinces and played on stages such as the Trier City Theater before returning to Berlin with the onset of the Nazi era . Initially, Klopsch did not find a permanent engagement there, but took part in a number of movies with small to small roles. It was only at the end of the thirties that Klopsch was firmly committed and performed at venues in the capital, such as the Volksbühne and, especially during the Second World War, the Theater am Nollendorfplatz .

After the war, Klopsch settled in Hamburg and mostly accepted guest performance contracts. Fixed engagements such as at the Hamburg venues Das Junge Theater , Theater im Zimmer or Kammerspiele were rather exceptional. He also appeared as a cabaret artist and took part in radio productions.

The Rühmann version of Der Hauptmann von Köpenick , in which he played the police inspector of Köpenick, deserves a mention of his films from that time . Klopsch often played subordinate groups in front of the camera: simple people and back burdens as well as a little self-important officials or subordinate, subservient spirits.

Since the beginning of the television age in the Federal Republic of Germany, Klopsch has been seen with numerous supporting roles in an abundance of TV productions. He was in the crime series Stahlnetz next to Heinz Engelmann with seven episodes the most frequently used actor, but here only in smaller roles. In the lively ZDF early evening series Percy Stuart , he played Mr. Grover, one of the members of the exclusive Club of 13 who entrust the title hero with all sorts of tricky tasks. He was also seen as a guest in several episodes of the popular entertainment shows Zwischenmahlzeit und Haifischbar . Shortly before his death, the spectacle wearer Klopsch had a great success in the series Checkout please! , in which he embodied the weird Grandpa Pieps.

Klopsch, who had two children, worked very often as a radio play speaker and was also active as a voice actor. His daughter Eveline Hall is a ballet dancer and model.
