Babette Reinhold , born Babette Maasch , also Babette Devrient or Babette Devrient-Reinhold , (born October 30, 1863 in Hanover , Kingdom of Hanover ; † June 13, 1940 in Vienna , German Empire ) was a German-Austrian theater and film actress.

Life

Babette Reinhold made her debut in Hamburg in 1883 at the Thalia Theater as "Preciosa". In 1887 she was hired at the Burgtheater to replace Margarethe Formes, who had left by marriage . She stayed there until 1932, where she also became an honorary member in 1926. An oil portrait of the actress by Olga Prager is in the possession of the Burgtheatergalerie. Reinhold became a citizen of Vienna in 1929 and retired from the theater in 1932. In 1935 and 1936 she took part in a few films, including in 1936 in the role of Frau Hofratsin in the film drama Der Weg des Herzens ( Prater ). She had been the wife of Max Devrient since 1895 , but was later divorced from him.

Her honorary grave is on the Döblinger Friedhof (group MO, number G 9) in Vienna.
