Eugene Anthony Chaplin (* 23. August 1953 ) is an in Switzerland active British engineer and documentary filmmaker .

family

Eugene Chaplin is the fifth son of actor Charlie Chaplin and his fourth wife Oona O'Neill . There are seven other children from the marriage; Geraldine Chaplin , Michael Chaplin , Victoria Chaplin , Josephine Chaplin , Jane Chaplin , Annette Chaplin , Christopher Chaplin . The half-siblings, Norman Chaplin, Charles Chaplin junior and Sydney Chaplin come from his father's earlier marriages .

Eugene Chaplin is married to Bernadette McCready. In 1982 their daughter Kiera Chaplin was born, who made a name for herself as a photo model.

Life

As the son of an actor couple, Eugene, like his siblings, came into contact with the film business at an early age. Eugene Chaplin has appeared in numerous films and documentaries about his famous father. He himself created a memorial for him with the documentary My Tribute , which he shot with his daughter Kiera on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin's death.

Eugene Chaplin was artistic director of Circus Nock for over seven years . He is also president of the International Comedy Film Festival in Vevey and oversees Chaplin's World - The Modern Times Museum , which opened in 2016 in the family's former Swiss residence in Corsier-sur-Vevey .
