Jerry Van Dyke
Jerry Van Dyke (born July 27, 1931 in Danville , Illinois - † January 5, 2018 in Malvern , Arkansas ) was an American comedian and film actor .
Life
Van Dyke made his debut on The Dick Van Dyke Show with several guest appearances as Rob Petrie's brother, Stacey. He played longer in several television series, the longest in the series Mit Herz und Scherz (original title: Coach ), in which he played the role of assistant coach Luther Horatio Van Dam in 199 episodes between 1989 and 1997 . For this role he was nominated four times for an Emmy in the category Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series . He had other longer engagements with the series Yes, Dear , Teen Angel , Accidental Family and My Mother the Car .
Jerry Van Dyke's older brothers are comedian and actor Dick and country singer and songwriter Leroy Van Dyke .
