Pauline Knof

Pauline Knof , born in Pauline von Schnitzler (born June 27, 1980 in East Berlin ), is a German theater and film actress .

Life and accomplishments

Pauline Knof comes from a theater family: her mother, Barbara Schnitzler , her grandmother, Inge Keller and her father Dieter Mann are or were actors at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . Her grandfather was Karl-Eduard von Schnitzler . She grew up on Alexanderplatz in Berlin . She began to learn to play the piano at the age of five and took ballet and singing lessons from the age of 13. She was discovered for the film by her stepfather, the television director Michael Knof : In 1998 she starred in the series Polizeiruf 110 in episode 200, Little Angel . She completed her training from 2000 to 2004 at the Rostock University of Music and Theater . At the drama school meeting in Graz in 2003 she received the solo prize for her portrayal of Esther in the play Victor or the Children in Power . During her studies she performed at the Rostock Volkstheater .

From 2004 to 2009 Knof was a member of the ensemble of the Burgtheater Vienna, until 2019 she was still engaged as a guest there. In the summer of 2012 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as Princess Natalie von Oranien in Kleist's Prince Friedrich von Homburg in a production by Andrea Breth , which was then also seen at the Burgtheater. From 2013 to 2019 she played Cordelia at the side of Klaus Maria Brandauer in Peter Stein's production of King Lear at the Burgtheater. She was also engaged at the Schauspiel Köln , the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the Staatstheater Stuttgart . From the 2015/16 season to 2019/20 she was part of the ensemble of the Theater in der Josefstadt . In summer 2020 she played again at the Salzburg Festival and took on the role of “debt servant's wife” in the one hundred year anniversary of Jedermann . On television, Knof starred in several episodes of the series Polizeiruf 110 and in various television films.

Pauline Knof lives in Berlin.
