The blue boll

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Der Blaue Boll is the sixth drama by Ernst Barlach from 1926. Seven pictures deal with the search for identity of the character Kurt Boll, who is actually strong in character, between a life tied to a solid body and redemption by an almighty God the Father. Because of its tendency to overeat and drink, Boll has a tendency to flutter , often turns blue, and is therefore called "the blue boll." The drama is very successful. Güstrow locations, such as the parish church , are woven into the plot . Barlach's friend Theodor Däubler served as a model for the figure of Boll .
