Theu Boermans [ tøː ˈbuːɾmans ] (born January 11, 1950 in Willemstad , Curaçao , Netherlands Antilles ) is a Dutch film and theater director , actor and the son of the songwriter Frans Boermans.

He works mainly in the Netherlands , Switzerland and Belgium . In Amsterdam he runs his own theater called Compagnie Theater . In 1996 he worked with Hans Gratzer at the Schauspielhaus in Vienna . In 2002, he staged Raoul Schrott Gilgamesh at the Academy Theater in January 2007, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Burgtheater under his direction premiere with Peter Simonischek and Andrea Clausen in the lead roles.

His film 1000 Rosen (1994) was an international success. Boermans was nominated for the crystal globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 1995 . In 1995 he won a Golden Calf for De Partizanen at the Nederlands Film Festival for best television drama, and in 2006 he was nominated for that award for De Uitverkorene for best television drama.

Boermans' production of Hamlet premiered on October 17, 2010 at the Schauspielhaus Graz .
