Carey Van Dyke
Carey Wayne Van Dyke (born February 25, 1976 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor and screenwriter , who became known through his work for The Asylum .
Life
Career
He made his acting debut with the series Diagnose: Mord , where he played six different people from 1994 to 2001. 1997 followed a short appearance as Doug in the episode "Shop 'Til You Drop" in Clueless - Die Chaos-Clique . In 2002 his first film role followed in the television film A Town Without Pity for Columbia Broadcasting System .
In 2012 he and his brother Shane wrote the screenplay for Chernobyl Diaries , which is based on an original story by Oren Peli .
In German it is mostly dubbed by Gabriel Kemmether .
Private
Carey Van Dyke is the son of Barry and Mary Van Dyke and thus the grandson of Dick Van Dyke . He and his wife Anne have five children, two of whom are adopted. His then 17-year-old son, Alex Van Dyke, was arrested in November 2011 after one of his classmates died in the Van Dyke home. The 18-year-old student and football player, Griffen Kramer, died of a heroin overdose, and Van Dyke was subsequently charged with custodial violation. However, the responsible judge dropped this lawsuit on December 1, 2011.
