A Haunting in Salem is an American horror film directed by Shane Van Dyke in 2011. The film was produced by The Asylum .
action
In an old house in Salem , which is always reserved for the respective sheriff as residence, the son was drowned 60 years ago, the woman was suffocated and Sheriff Underhill was thrown out of the window while trying to set the house on fire. The only survivor is the daughter, who is admitted to a mental institution.
At present, the new Sheriff Wayne Downs, his wife Carrie, daughter Alli and son Kyle move in. The house is scary to them from the start. Carrie finds long woman's hair and a tooth in a drain. Meanwhile, Alli receives strange chat messages from a user named Salem 19. Wayne has hallucinations, he sees dead people. When the caretaker McSwaine is found hanged from a tree, Wayne begins researching the house. He learns that it is an old courthouse, in which 19 innocent women were all hanged during the witch hunt and all sheriffs who ever lived in it died non-natural deaths.
Alli is now getting worse and worse. She keeps throwing up and is pale as a sheet. In the bathroom, she removes a molar tooth that is unusually loose. Wayne searches the property for the witch-hunt bodies that were buried there. When Carrie wants to leave the house with her children and annoyed by her husband, Deputy Goodwin arrives to pick them up. Wayne discovers 13 sheriff death notices under the hardwood floor, none of whom died while on duty. When Goodwin tries to get Alli out of the house, he is murdered by her. Alli is now possessed by demons. Kyle and Carrie are also hanged.
Wayne stabs Alli, who now represents the 19 innocent women. He's distributing gasoline everywhere to set fire to the house. The moment he clicks the lighter, Alli reappears behind him.

“The viewer knows more than the main actor, because he gets the annihilation of the predecessor family told before the opening credits in this low-budget haunted house film prepared by the Asylum company based on tried and tested haunted house film models. Poltergeist activities quickly turn into murder and manslaughter, first it hits others, then the impacts come closer. The actors try hard, director van Dyke is not untalented by Asylum standards, and the effects seldom fail to have their effect. Okay for horror viewers. "
