Doris Kiesow , born Dorothea Charlotte Gertrud Kiesow , (born December 11, 1902 in Cologne-Deutz , Germany , † 1973 in Munich ) was a German actress .

Life

Born in Cologne, she had played theater in the German provinces at the beginning of the 1920s - first in Rheydt , later in Dresden , among other places - before she met her fellow actor Paul Verhoeven and finally married him in 1930. As a result of the birth of the two children Lis (1931) and Michael (1938), Doris Kiesow-Verhoeven interrupted her acting activities for a long time and initially devoted herself entirely to raising her daughter and son. Finally, after having become a Munich resident by choice, she returned to the stage, the Kleine Komödie and the Münchner Kammerspiele after 1945 , and has also appeared in front of the camera since the early 1950s. Doris Kiesow played medium to small roles in both cinema and television films, mostly as a normal woman from the people or as a wife.
