Bob's Watson

Robert S. "Bobs" Watson (born November 11, 1930 in Los Angeles , California , † June 27, 1999 in Laguna Beach , California) was an American actor and Methodist priest.

Life

Watson came from the then busy acting family Watson . He was the youngest of nine children; his eight other siblings, like him, appeared as child actors in numerous Hollywood productions between the 1910s and 1940s . He gained fame in 1938 through the portrayal of the boy "Pee Wee" in the film Devil's Guys at the side of Mickey Rooney and Spencer Tracy . From then on, Bob's Watson was primarily predestined for tragic child roles. A year later he played in Lord of the Wild West next to Errol Flynn a boy who is dragged to death by a horse. Also in 1939 he had a leading role alongside Lionel Barrymore in the film On Borrowed Time , in which he again met his death at the end of the film.

As an adult, he has appeared in over 50 films and television series including The Twilight Zone , Lou Grant, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and The Fugitive . In addition to his work as an actor, he attended the Claremont School of Theology, where he trained as a Methodist priest. He held the priesthood in California for 30 years. His marriage to Jaye Watson has three sons. Shortly before his death, the Watson family jointly received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame . Bobs Watson died of cancer in 1999 at the age of 68.
