Tyrone William Power IV. (Born January 22, 1959 in Los Angeles , California ), as actor Tyrone Power, Jr. , is an American film actor.

life and work

Tyrone Power is the only son of Hollywood star Tyrone Power (III.) And his third wife, Deborah Ann Montgomery Minardos, and thus comes from a line of well-known film and theater actors. His father suddenly perished on the film set during a fencing duel two months before he was born, and so Tyrone Power IV was born as a half-orphan at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital (now Cedars-Sinai Medical Center ) in Los Angeles. He is the half-brother of Romina and Taryn Power , who came from his father's marriage to actress Linda Christian . Power only met Romina and her future husband Al Bano in the winter of 1987. Together they recorded the song A Miracle for the album Fragile in 1988 .

Power's acting career began on the theater stage in the late 1970s. He played his first role with a friend in a Shakespearean drama. After seven years of acting in small and medium-sized plays, he switched to film. In 1985, Power first appeared as Pillsbury in the film Cocoon . In addition to the sequel Cocoon II - The Return , other movies and appearances in the television series Cheers (1989) and Reich und Schön (2009) followed.

As an actor, like his father at the beginning of his Hollywood career, he is known as Tyrone Power, Jr.

From 1995 to 2003 he was married to the actress DeLane Matthews , who u. a. from the series General Hospital , Nip / Tuck - Beauty has its price and the sitcom Dave's world is known. With her he has a son. He has been married to the Canadian comedian and actress Carla Collins (* 1965) since 2007 .
