Linda Christian , actually Blanca Rosa Welter (born November 13, 1923 in Tampico , Mexico - † July 22, 2011 in Palm Springs , California ), was a Mexican - American actress , also known as Linda Christian Power and Linda Welter had become known.

Life

Linda Christian's mother, Blanca Rosa Vorhauer (1901–1992), was of Spanish, French and German descent; her Dutch father, Gerardus Jacob Welter (1904-1981), was chairman of the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company . Her marriage to Hollywood star Tyrone Power in 1949 , which divorced in 1956, made her famous. From this marriage came the singer Romina Power and the actress Taryn Power . Linda Christian was also friends with the Spanish racing driver Alfonso de Portago .

Christian was married to British actor Edmund Purdom from 1962 to 1963 .

In the 1940s, the Mexico-born actress became a star in Hollywood. In 1948 she appeared in Tarzan in Danger on the side of Johnny Weissmüller as Mara . In the first film adaptation of the James Bond stories by Ian Fleming , Christian played the secret agent's mistress in the television adaptation of Casino Royale in 1954 .

Her younger sister Ariadna Welter (1930-1998) was also an actress.

Linda Christian died of colon cancer in July 2011 at the age of 87 in Palm Springs, California .
