The Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata (ANSA) is an Italian news and press agency founded on January 15, 1945 in Rome . It is a cooperative of 24 associated publishers, including the most important Italian newspapers, and is considered the leading news agency in Italy ahead of Adnkronos and AGI .

ANSA has 22 offices in Italy and a further 73 abroad. The head office in Rome is in Via della Dataria 94 , not far from the Quirinal Palace .

The agency transmits more than 3700 reports, over 1700 press photos and around 60 videos per day (as of 2020).

As the first Italian news agency, ANSA began distributing news via SMS in 1996 . The ANSAmed has been disseminating news related to the Mediterranean since 2003 . There are also editions in English, Spanish (ANSA Latina) and Portuguese (ANSA Brasil), the latter with a focus on Latin America, and a number of specialized websites.

The immediate predecessor of the ANSA was in on 26 January 1853 Turin founded Agenzia Telegrafica Stefani .
