Dante DiPaolo

Dante DiPaolo (* 18th February 1926 in Frederick , Colorado ; † 3. September 2013 Los Angeles , California, USA) was a US -American dancer and actor . At times he also appeared under the names Dante De Paulo , Dante D'Paulo and Dante Di Paola .

Life

The son of a miner who immigrated from Italy started a career as a dancer, which earned him the nickname "The Whirlwind from Colorado". At the age of 13 he played his first small film role alongside Bing Crosby in The Star Maker ; In 1946 he was seen with Judy Garland in Ziegfeld Follies . From 1948 to 1950 he played in various shows on New York Broadway .

In the 1950s he performed as a dancer mainly in Las Vegas , where he married a show dancer with whom he moved to Europe and lived for a few years in Rome , where he continued to make films.

From 1973 the now divorced DiPaolo was in a relationship with the singer Rosemary Clooney , whom he had already met in Hollywood in the late 1940s . The two married in November 1997 and remained a couple until Clooney's death in 2002.
