criticism

The film service wrote at the time: "The colorfully illustrated morality with the good-natured protector of widows and orphans at the center of such exhilarating acts of strength would be quite adventurous film fun for children."

Remarks

Gordon Mitchell's first Italian film applied in response to a newspaper advertisement.

The international title was Atlas against the cyclops .

In some studies on the subject of "Racism in Film", the film receives particular attention through the scene in which Maciste has to keep his balance in the middle of a tug-of-war between black and white slaves over a lions' den.
