Luigi Carpentieri

Luigi Carpentieri (born December 14, 1920 in Rome , † March 12, 1987 ) was an Italian film producer .

Life

Carpentieri worked for the film since 1939; he began as an assistant editor, became assistant director in 1940 and in 1948 took over the direction of the Italian version of La madonnina d'oro . From 1947 until 1968, with Athena Cinematografia (from 1960 Panda ), which he and Ermanno Donati founded , he produced around 40 films, mostly well-crafted, adventurous ready-made products.

In 1969, one of his last films, The Day of the Owl , won both a David di Donatello and a Nastro d'Argento .
