content

In order to be able to withstand the onslaught of the Tartars, the Chinese Emperor Wung calls on the Great Khan of the Mongols and his troops to help. However, he insidiously murdered him and proclaimed himself ruler of the kingdom of heaven . Then he tries to kill the rightful heirs to the throne, Prince Tai Sung and Princess Li Ling; Maciste appears, however, who rushes to the aid of the distressed. The muscular hero allies himself with the rebel leader Chu, who is fighting against the despot.

After events surging back and forth - this is how the Khan succeeds in capturing the princess and killing the prince - Maciste, supported by the young bayan, is able to use his extraordinary strength to trigger an earthquake in which the soldiers of the Great Khan are affected to be killed. After the Khan himself is eliminated, Li Ling can marry the brave Chu; both now take the place of the emperor's successors.

criticism

  • Ronald M. Hahn / Volker Jansen and Norbert Stresau comment in their dictionary of fantasy films on the earthquake scene: “This scene will be remembered by everyone who has seen it. Even the most hardened trash fans lay neighing on the floor at the time (1962) and note a "refreshing (but involuntary) humor of the actors" .
  • Segnalazione cinematografiche point to impressive backdrops, splendid costumes, good color photography and poor representations.
