Oreste Biancoli

Oreste Biancoli (born February 20, 1897 in Bologna , † November 25, 1971 in Rome ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

Biancoli studied law and between 1919 and 1926 worked as a journalist in the editorial team of Il Resto del Carlino . Then he wrote for various media and began working for the theater in 1928; often in cooperation with Dino Falconi , he wrote numerous comedies that were performed by various theater troupes and met with great interest. Soon they wrote for Mario Mattòli , under whom Vittorio de Sica and Umberto Melnati played. After the Second World War , Biancoli and Falconi turned to political satires.

In parallel to his theater work, Biancoli wrote his first screenplay for the screen in 1930 : Il richiamo del cuore was made into a film in 1930. From 1932 he wrote for numerous films, including classics like Der Bandit , Fahrraddiebe - those involved were awarded the Nastro d'Argento in 1949 - or Don Camillo and Peppone (without mention), but also many genre products until he left work in 1964 withdrew.

Biancoli also made about ten films under her own direction; one of them dearly unfinished and none left lasting traces in Italian film history.
