Immaculata "Immy" Schell (born February 11, 1935 in Vienna ; † August 14, 1992 there ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

The youngest daughter of the Austrian actress Margarethe Noé von Nordberg and the Swiss writer Hermann Ferdinand Schell , like her older siblings Maria , Carl and Maximilian , embarked on an artistic career.

After her acting training, she mainly worked on German-speaking theaters. After she was offered her first leading role in the film Nachtschwester Ingeborg in 1957 , she adopted the stage name Edith Nordberg in order to step out of the shadows of her famous family members. On the advice of director Rudolf Noelte , she appeared again under her own name after a few years. Although her artistic focus remained on stage work, she was repeatedly involved in films, in Feuersturm und Asche as the wife of Rudolf Höß , in television plays ( The Heiress ) and television series ( Kottan determined ). In 1975 she appeared on Hansjürgen Rosenbauer's talk show The Later That Evening with her sister Maria and her brother Maximilian. In 1991 there was another joint appearance with her sister Maria in the ARD early evening series The happy family in the episode The terrible truth .

Immy Schell was married to the actor Walter Kohut . She died of pneumonia in 1992 at the age of 57 and rests next to her husband in Vienna's Mauer cemetery (group 29, row 2, number 7).
