Marilyn Miller
Marilyn Miller (born September 1, 1898 in Evansville , Indiana , † April 7, 1936 in New York City , real life Mary Ellen Reynolds ) was a well -known American musical star and a tap dancer in the 1920s .
She achieved first prominence in the Florence Ziegfeld production Sally with her performance of the song Look for the Silver Lining . Marilyn had the greatest success with numerous appearances on Broadway during the 1920s. However, her film career was unsuccessful; she only appeared in three films: in an adaptation of Sally ( Cilly , 1929), in Sunny (1930) and Her Majesty, Love (1933).
From 1922 to 1927 she was married to the actor Jack Pickford , a brother of the film diva Mary Pickford .
For a long time, Marilyn Miller suffered from maxillary sinus suppuration; she died of complications from surgery on her nasal cavities in 1936.
Marilyn Miller was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx.
