Heinzpeter Rühmann

Heinzpeter "Peter" Rühmann (born June 7, 1942 in Berlin-Wannsee ) is a German engineer. Until his retirement he was an associate professor for ergonomics at the Technical University of Munich . He is the only son of the actor Heinz Rühmann and his second wife Hertha Feiler .

His participation in the 1954 film Fireworks was the only time he followed in his father's footsteps. Rühmann studied mechanical engineering and then completed a postgraduate course in ergonomics and economics. In 1970 he moved to the Technical University of Munich and devoted himself to the construction of a simulator for rolling vibrations. He was there with a thesis on the influence of roll vibrations on human control power doctorate . His habilitation dealt with the influence of complex rolling vibrations on the necessary control element design. 1984 he was appointed Professor of Industrial Engineering at the Institute of Ergonomics.

His research deals with the areas of human modeling , information technology human modeling, environmental ergonomics and work design. As a product ergonomist, he worked in an advisory capacity with the private sector. He designed the ergonomically optimized lecture hall chairs for the mechanical engineering faculty of the TU.

Rühmann was chairman of the committee for the preliminary examination for teaching at vocational schools at the Technical University of Munich, represented the professorships in the committee for teacher training and headed the ergonomics chair with Heiner Bubb until his retirement .

Rühmann is married and has three children. His daughter Melanie Rühmann is an actress.
