from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heiner Bubb (born April 12, 1943 in Würzburg ) is a German ergonomist . Until 2009 he was a full professor of ergonomics at the Technical University of Munich . Heiner Bubb is one of the most important researchers in the field of vehicle ergonomics.

biography

Heiner Bubb studied technical physics at what was then the Technical University of Munich (TUM) from 1962 to 1968 after graduating from high school in Eichstätt . From 1968 to 1975 he worked as a research assistant at what was then the Institute for Ergonomics, where he did his doctorate in 1975 on the subject of research into the display of braking distances in motor vehicles . He invented the contact-analog head-up display (HUD) for motor vehicles. His habilitation in 1978 dealt with the ergonomics of the human-machine system and thus provided the basis for active control elements . In 1985 he was appointed to the professorship for ergonomics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt . There he was dean from 1987 to 1990 and then vice dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education until 1991 . From 1991 to 1993 he was a member of the Senate of the Catholic University of Eichstätt.

In 1993, Heiner Bubb moved to the Chair of Ergonomics at the Technical University of Munich as a professor, succeeding Heinz Schmidtke . At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, he was dean of studies from 2005 to 2007 and also spokesman for the deans of studies at the Technical University of Munich. In 2009 he handed over the chair for ergonomics to Klaus Bengler.

Between 1997 and 2003 Heiner Bubb was a board member, president and vice-president of the Society for Ergonomics (GfA).

Heiner Bubb pursued the internationalization of studies at the Technical University of Munich in the sense of the Bologna Process and promoted the international scientific exchange in the field of ergonomics, in particular through his personal activities in Hungary and the USA .

Heiner Bubb is married, has two children and lives in Munich. He is a member of the Catholic Student Union K.St.V. Albertia Munich in KV .

research

His research focuses on the fields of anthropometry and digital human models (human modeling), human reliability, cognitive ergonomics or system ergonomics and work design. Heiner Bubb has published more than 120 publications on this. His research work for the digital human model RAMSIS and his work on the design of the driver's workstation in motor vehicles should be mentioned with outstanding benefits for practical application . Due to the worldwide widespread use of RAMSIS by the large-scale manufacturers of cars and trucks and the close and intensive cooperation with industrial companies, many people benefit directly from Heiner Bubb's ergonomic research results in their everyday lives.
