Ali Khan (real name Ali Haydar Wilhelm Halmatoglu , born March 20, 1954 in Munich ) is a German television and radio presenter, cabaret artist and rock drummer.

Life

Ali "Khan" Halmatoglu is the son of a Persian and a South Tyrolean (Pingera family from Sulden ) and grew up with a sister in Munich, where his family lived in the Laim district until 1965 and where he attended elementary school on Schrobenhausener Straße . After primary school, he moved to the Pasinger Max-Planck-Gymnasium .

Ali Khan, whose father died when he was six, attended the Eisfeld Ballet School in Munich from 1958 to 1962 . As a child, he starred in Kidnapping in 1960 and in Final in 1961 . In 1961 he also worked for advertising productions ( Bäckerblume , Penaten, etc.). At the age of 17 he left high school in order to earn his first own money in Berlin as the drummer for the Krautrock band Mythos . He financed studio productions and tours among others for the German rock group Bullfrog , founded in 1973 , with which he drums himself briefly when it was founded and again briefly on the third album. Until 1981 he played as a drummer in various bands, at that time everything under his real name Ali Halmatoglu .

In 1980 he met Lisa Fitz . The two married within 14 days. The marriage to Ali Khan sparked an outcry in Fitz's fan community over his Persian ancestry. Then she wrote her song My husband is Persian, a very perverted ... (1981). In the year of the wedding, he was also “ Uncredited ” in Rainer Erler's television comedy Mein Freund, der Scheich , in which Fitz played “Fanni”. During the marriage he was involved as a co-author and cabaret artist on Fitz's stage programs "Die heilige Hur", "Heil", "LadyBoss", "Geld macht Geil", "Kruzifix" and others.

Then from 1985 he ran 15 years Music & Cabaret Agency The Music Office and began working as a life coach to work for private individuals and companies. From 1985 to 1987 he was a drummer with Stranzinger and completed an acting training at the drama school Zerboni . He played at the Münchner Volkstheater a . a. in Der Bockerer with Otto Schenk . In 1996 Ali Khan delivered his first cabaret solo program with the title "Bomb Mood" and began to work as a life coach . He gained fame mainly through his television shows. In 1995/96 he produced 50 episodes of his TV show SpeziAli ( RTL ). From 1996 to 2002 tv.münchen broadcast 1000 episodes of the Ali Khan Show , a daily call-in show with live guests. The broadcaster 9Live broadcast its call-in prize-winning show Alles auf Rot , in which it entertained the audience with games of hats , card games, etc., and from 2007 on PRO7 , SAT.1 and 9Live its program Biber Lars Vegas was also shown Call-in prize show with an animated cartoon beaver character. In 2008 he founded the local internet television broadcaster Ali Khan TV ( www.alikhan.tv ) with the investor Rudolf C. King after approval by the media council of the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BML ). The media operator was King, and the media officer was Ali Khan. Until 2009, 500 episodes of his talk show entitled Ali Khan Show were on the station . In 2013 Ali Khan devoted himself to writing his autobiographical short story BitterSweet and wrote his second cabaret solo program “TourEtteTour”. Also in 2013 he started shooting his series Munich Heroes for the Munich city portal muenchen.de and started his blog kingdomofkhan . From the end of 2015 he toured with the solo program "Huresohn", then "ToretteTour".

He worked as a guest author of the weekly Lesebühne Schwabinger Schaumschläger Show founded by Michael Sailer , Moses Wolff and Jaromir Konecny and moderated many Munich events, for example Bundesliga games of the ERSC Twisters Ottobrunn women's ice hockey team . In the 2015 Bundesliga season he was also the stadium announcer for the Munich Rangers in the Dantestadion .

In 2017 he started as CCO at Rudolf King's start-up SwiftAlarm! Emergency call systems ( www.swiftalarm.de ) to work, where he serves as Managing Director for the German market since 2018th In 2018 he also founded his initiative “Rock Against Rape” ( www.rockagainstrape.rocks ) and alternated with Sky du Mont as a narrator for the performances of the Rocky Horror Show at the Deutsches Theater in Munich . In the same year he founded the band Rose Khan Walton with Paul Rose (Best Guitarist UK 2017/2018) and Raoul Walton (Bass) .

The cabaret artist and musician Nepo Fitz comes from his marriage to Lisa Fitz . He is also the father of two daughters.
