STRANZINGER is an Austrian rock band that was founded by Reinhard Stranzinger in 1985 and bears his name. STRANZINGER's trademark is the symbiosis of rock music and dialect texts.

Reinhard Stranzinger

Reinhard Stranzinger was born in Braunau am Inn in 1960 . In addition to his band “STRANZINGER”, he played with the Original Alpinkatzen from 1991 to 1994 , with Drahdiwaberl from 2003 to 2009 , with Supermax from 2004 to 2011 and since 2010 with the First General Uncertainty .

Band history

The beginnings

The following musicians played a part in the original formation of STRANZINGER: Reinhard Stranzinger (guitar and vocals), Markus Peitli (bass) and Ali Halmatoglu ( Ali Khan ) (drums). In the next line-up, which formed in 1987, alongside Reinhard Stranzinger, Markus Peitli, Axel Misera (guitar), Christian Gschneitner (keyboard) and Iwan Iwantscheff (drums) played.

Ois oda nothing

After Hubert von Goisern left for a creative break at the end of 1994, Reinhard Stranzinger reactivated his own band. The STRANZINGER debut album “Ois oda nix” (BMG Ariola ) was also recorded with Walter Cikan (bass), Clemens Marx (guitar), Christian Gschneidner (keyboards) and Louis Goldblum (drums)  . STRANZINGER then accompanied John Mayall  & The Bluesbreakers on a tour through Austria, Germany and Switzerland in 1997. Reinhard Stranzinger's fellow musicians were Markus Peitli (bass), Christian Gschneidner (keyboards) and Wolfgang Maier (drums).

New start in Berchtesgaden

At the request of an old friend, Reinhard Stranzinger returned to the stage with STRANZINGER at a music festival in Berchtesgaden with Wolfgang Laab (guitar), Jan-Luc Johanni (drums) and Werner Karall (bass). This was followed by concerts with bands such as Deep Purple (Stadthalle Wien) or Toto (Burg Clam) as well as festival appearances such as at the Donauinselfest 2004. 2007 brought a comprehensive line-up - David Pernsteiner took over the drums, while Christoph Navratil took care of the bass as the bassist. Anton Spreitzer and later Christoph Kögler completed the line-up as organs. In the following years Stranzinger shared the stage with Status Quo and Supermax, among others .

We're not out of sugar

After a joint concert with Uriah Heep , STRANZINGER received an offer from Robert Hafner to produce an album in his studio. The result is eleven songs that have been available in stores since October 14, 2011 on the album "Wir san ned aus Zucker" ( Hoanzl ). As on the previous album, STRANZINGER shows how well loud guitars and dialect texts get along. Christoph Kögler left immediately after the recordings and since then STRANZINGER has performed as a power trio.
