The Original Alpinkatzen were an Austrian music group of new folk music from 1986 to 1994.

history

The group was founded in 1986 by Hubert von Goisern and Wolfgang Staribacher . In 1991 the Alpinkatzen took part in a tour of the alpine musical Der Watzmann calls with Wolfgang Ambros , Joesi Prokopetz and Manfred diving .

From 1992 the band played with some new musicians because Wolfgang Staribacher split up. At the age of 17 Sabine Kapfinger could only be heard on the studio album, as she was only allowed to perform on stage with the band from the age of 18. The breakthrough came in 1992 with the album Aufgeigen stått niederschiassen and the single Hiatamadl and brought the band international success.

In 1994 the second album came on the market, which exceeded the sales figures of the first album and was represented in the German charts. The album was a cover version of Georgia on My Mind (Hoagy Carmichael, best known for the version of Ray Charles) to find. In the translation it says Goisern . There were also revised versions of some of the songs from the debut album .

In 1994 the band officially broke up, but then went on a final tour until 1995. Hubert von Goisern, Sabine Kapfinger and Reinhard Stranzinger began successful solo careers. Staribacher founded the Mozart band .
