Leo Penn
Leo Penn (born August 27, 1921 in Lawrence , Massachusetts , † September 5, 1998 in Los Angeles ) was an American film director , actor , screenwriter and film producer .
Life
Leo Penn, father of actors Sean and Chris and musician Michael Penn , served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II in a B-24 Liberator belonging to the 755th Bomb Squadron and stationed in England as part of the Eighth Air Force was. He has worked as a director for many television series . He has also appeared as a guest actor in a number of series he directed. He wrote the script for an episode of Ben Casey , as well as for episodes of the Studio One series .
He was married twice: first briefly to actress Olive Deering , and from 1958 until his death in 1998 with Eileen Ryan . With her he had three sons. Leo Penn died of lung cancer .
