Eileen Ryan
Eileen Ryan (* 16th October 1928 in New York City as Eileen Rose Annucci ) is an American actress . She is the mother of actors Michael , Chris and Sean Penn .
Life
Eileen Ryan was born Eileen Rose Annucci , the daughter of nurse Rose Isabel Ryan and dentist Amerigo Giuseppe Annucci, in New York City . Her mother was Irish-American and her father was Italian-American . She grew up with her two sisters on a farm in New York. After graduating from college, she was able to assert herself on Broadway and moved to Los Angeles in 1959 , where she wanted to concentrate on her film career. But since she had married Leo Penn a year earlier, she withdrew after the birth of their three children, primarily to devote themselves to their upbringing.
From 1958 until his death in 1998 she was married to the actor and director Leo Penn . Their three children are the actors Michael, Chris and Sean Penn. Starting in 1986 in particular, Ryan increasingly appeared in her sons' productions. She starred alongside Sean Penn in films such as On Short Distance and I Am Sam , as well as in his directed films Crossing Guard - It Happened on the Open Road and The Promise with.
