Karisma Kapoor
Karisma Kapoor ( Hindi करिश्मा कपूर Karishma Kapur , IAST Kariśmā Kapūr ; born June 25, 1974 in Mumbai , India ) is an Indian film actress . In India she is also known under the name Lolo , based on the Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida .
Life
Kapoor belongs to the Kapoor acting dynasty, which is deeply rooted in the Hindi film industry . Her mother is the actress Babita Kapoor , her younger sister is Kareena Kapoor , her father Randhir Kapoor is an actor, her grandfather is the legendary producer, director and actor Raj Kapoor , and her great-grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor was also an actor.
After completing her regular school years, Karisma Kapoor went to Sophia College in Mumbai, but left school without a degree to work in the film industry. Kapoor played her first film role in 1991 in the film Prem Qaidi . In the 1990s she starred in a number of successful comedies. Towards the end of the decade, she was able to successfully consolidate her career with two films. She received a Filmfare Award for her role in Raja Hindustani in 1996 . For her supporting role in Dil To Pagal Hai from 1997, she received several Indian film awards: a National Film Award , a Filmfare Award and a Zee Cine Award . She also received awards for her roles in the films Fiza and Zubeidaa .
Kapoor married the industrialist Sanjay Kapur on September 29, 2003. Sanjay and Karisma divorced on June 4, 2014. After the birth of their daughter Samaira (born March 11, 2005), she took a longer break. She has been back on the screen since 2006.
