Biwi No. 1 ( Hindi : बीवी नम्बर वन , bīvī nambar van ; lit.: wife number one ) is a Hindi film by David Dhawan from 1999.

action

Prem is very wealthy and leads a happy family life with his wife Pooja and their two children until the model Rupali enters his life. He falls in love with her and begins to lead a double life. He takes Rupali to Switzerland, where they are discovered by Pooja's sister Lovely and her husband Lathan.

After his return, Prem buys a beautiful villa for Rupali and visits it, Lathan helps him to cover up the affair, but it is soon discovered and Pooja gives Prem an ultimatum. Prem leaves his family and lives with Rupali. Pooja thinks about how she could win her husband back. Lathan feels guilty and promises to help her. They try by all means to separate Prem and Rupali: children and Prem's mother move in with them, Pooja takes over the management of Prem's advertising agency and dismisses Rupali, Rupali's admirer Deepak reappears thanks to Lathan's efforts.
