Salman Khan
Salman Khan ( Urdu : سلمان خان; Hindi : सलमान ख़ान , Salmān Kh ān , born December 27, 1965 in Indore , Madhya Pradesh ; born as Abdul Rasheed Salim Salman Khan ) is an Indian actor. He is one of the popular stars of Bollywood .
Khan made his acting debut in 1988 with a minor role in Biwi Ho To Aisia . He had his first commercial success with the blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), with which he won an award for best male debutant. He starred in several Hindi films such as Saajan (1991), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Judwaa (1997), Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and Biwi No.1 (1999 ). In 1999 Khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his appearance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), establishing himself as one of the leading actors in Hindi cinema.
Life
Salman Khan was born in Indore to the screenwriter Salim Khan . His father is Muslim and his mother comes from a Hindu family. Khan characterized himself in 2015 as "Both Hindu and Muslim". On his father's side, Khan has Afghan - Pashtun roots, his maternal family comes from Jammu and Kashmir . Salman's brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan are also actors. Salman also has two sisters, one of whom is married to actor and director Atul Agnihotri . One of Salim Khan's two wives is the dancer Helen .
Career
Salman started his career with the film Maine Pyar Kiya . He was followed by Saajan (super hit), Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! , Karan Arjun , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - And all of a sudden it's love , Biwi No. 1 (hit), Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (hit). Also his last films Tere Naam , No Entry - Affair forbidden! , Two hearts for Rani ( Mujhse Shaadi Karogi ), Lucky: No Time for Love and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya - Why did I fall in love? became a great success.
In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
Controversy
He made the headlines, among other things, because of his failed relationship with actress Aishwarya Rai . He is also assumed to have relations with the Mafia, which is said to have already financed his film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke .
On May 6, 2015, Khan was sentenced to five years in prison for allegedly driving his car under the influence of alcohol and without a license in September 2002 to a group of homeless people in Mumbai who were sleeping on the sidewalk. A man was killed in the process. The judge therefore found Khan guilty of manslaughter in addition to traffic violations. The Bombay High Court in Mumbai granted Khan a two-day reprieve on bail at the defense’s request. On May 8, 2015 Khan was on bail of 30,000 rupees granted another reprieve prison because an appeal was lodged against the judgment.
The Rajasthan High Court charged Khan with poaching in a forest near Jodhpur while filming in 1998. He is said to have shot down Indian gazelles and two of the deer goat antelopes , which are revered by the local Bishnoi group and protected as a threatened species by Indian law . In 2016, he was acquitted of charges related to the incident. On April 5, 2018, Khan was found guilty of poaching in a Jodhpur court and sentenced to five years in prison. He was also fined 10,000 rupees. The defense announced that they would appeal as soon as possible. On April 7, 2018, Khan was temporarily released from prison after having been detained for two days after paying rupees 1,000,000 as security. A court hearing has been scheduled for May 7, 2018 to officially suspend the sentence at Khan's request.
