Auzaar ( Hindi : औज़ार , auzār ; German translation: tool ) is a Hindi film by Sohail Khan from 1997.

Suraj and Yash are best friends in college. After they have finished their studies they go different ways. Suddenly, Yash's father, a gang boss named Thakur, is seriously injured by another gang boss named Bhaiji, so he has to use a wheelchair. Yash is furious and kills Bhaiji in his rage. He takes over the leadership of his father's gang, marries Prathna and is persecuted by Bhaiji's son. At the same time, Suraj is training to be a police officer with the CBI in another city, as he cannot watch his friend dive into the crime scene. When Suraj returns, he is tasked with investigating the murder of Bhaiji and soon realizes that he has to convict his best friend Yash.
After a while, Yash learns about Suraj's job and his destiny to arrest him. This is how the once best friends become enemies. Suraj now has to convince Yash that Yash's father is not who he seems to be. In addition, Suraj comes under high pressure as his superiors are waiting for an investigation into Yash.
Suraj finds out that Yash's business is legal and that someone else is committing crimes under Yash's name. Suraj also proves that Yash's father also has a hand and is not paralyzed at all.
Eventually Suraj discovers the secret and arrests Baba, who wanted to take revenge on Yash. However, when he defies arrest, Suraj shoots him; Baba falls and dies. And so everyone finds their happiness again, because Yash and Suraj are friends again.
