Shilpa Shetty (born June 8, 1975 in Mangalore , Karnataka ) is an Indian actress and model .

Life

Shilpa Shetty is the older daughter of Surendra and Sunanda Shetty, manufacturers of accessories for the pharmaceutical industry. She attended St. Anthony High School for Girls in Mumbai and later Podar College in Matunga. After training as a Bharatanatyam dancer, she was also active in sports. She was the captain of the school volleyball team and had a black belt in karate. Shetty's younger sister Shamita Shetty is also a Bollywood actress. They worked together once in 2005 in the film Fareb . After participating in the UK's celebrity Big Brother TV show in 2007, Shetty was the winner with 63% of the vote in the final vote.
